The mission of the PIRGSO is to represent and promote the interests of the university's current and prospective graduate and professional student community of the Politics & International Relations Department. It is our goal to provide graduate students of Politics & International Relations with the institutional capacity to organize events and conferences that are related to our field of study as well as career related matters. Moreover, we envision this organization to facilitate discussions and engagement with all students with an interest in world politics.

PIRGSO is appropriately organized to accomplish the following functions:

• Act as a clearinghouse for, and provide services, and programs to current and prospective graduate and professional students;

• Organize student conferences to promote interaction among graduate and professional students and faculty;

• Encourage and facilitate communication with and interaction among other graduate and undergraduate student organizations;

• Seek funding to support organizational activities, as well as graduate and professional students;

• Promote a sense of community among graduate and professional students.
